| Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the New York Yankees in 1997, he pitched in their farm system through 2005, reaching AAA Columbus in his final season.
For his career, Artiles is 15-17 with 15 saves and a 3.83 ERA. In 164 games (six starts), he has pitched 265.2 innings, allowing 262 hits and 160 walks while striking out 236 (eight strikeouts per nine innings).
