| With the WhiteWings last season, Jimenez was 2-4 with a 5.40 ERA. In 14 games (four starts), he pitched 43.1 innings and allowed 51 hits and 27 walks while striking out 35. He was lights out as a reliever, going 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA. In 23 innings, he struck out 20 while holding opponents to a .164 batting average.
He finished the season with the Alexandria Aces, pitching in five games with an 8.10 ERA. In ten innings he gave up 13 hits and six walks while striking out five.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the San Diego Padres on April 16, 2003, Jimenez pitched in the Padres system through 2006, getting as high as Class-A Clinton (Midwest League) in 2006. He then pitched with Coastal Bend (American Association) and Laredo in 2007.
