| Agustin Abad Septimocomes to the WhiteWings after spending the first six years of his career in affiliated baseball as a members of the Milwaukee Brewers and Florida Marlins organizations.
Signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Brewers in 2002, Septimo began his career as a 19-year old shortstop in Rookie-level Helena (Pioneer League), where he stole eight bases in 10 attempts in 56 games.
That was just a sign of things to come, as Septimo has racked up 83 steals in 101 attempts (82.2%) over the course of 409 games. He had a career-high 26 steals in 31 attempts for Jupiter (Class A Advanced, Florida State League) in 2007. He also had 20 steals in 23 attempts for Class A Greensboro (South Atlantic League) in 2006.
Septimo is a career .243 hitter with 42 doubles, 12 triples, 22 home runs and 141 RBI. He's also scored 219 runs.
Septimo hit a career-high .317 for Helena in 2004.
The 25-year old has primarily been a shortstop, but has seen action at second and third base in addition to the outfield. |
